Armpit hair removal is more popular than other types of hair removal. Perhaps it's because it's extremely easy to remove armpit hair by using a razor. Whatever the case may be, armpit hair removal is the same as other body hair removal.
Standard Removal Processes
As mentioned above, shaving is the most common form of armpit removal. There isn't too much to shaving an armpit. It just requires a sharp razor and some shaving cream. Dull razors can result in razor burn or nicks so make sure to invest in a high quality razor.
When you shave your armpits, make sure to shave with the hair growth. For example, if your hair grows down, shave starting at the top of your armpit and move down. Going against the hair growth will cause ingrown hairs, which are painful and unsightly. Many people believe that shaving causes their hair to grow back darker and thicker. This is not true. Shaved hair may appear darker when it grows back, but it really isn't. A hair that is shaved grows back with a blunt tip rather than a rounded one. This is what makes the hair look darker.
Another standard armpit hair removal process is waxing. You can get your armpits waxed just like you can get your bikini line or legs waxed. Armpit waxing takes just a few minutes and isn't that painful. Keep in mind that if you get your armpits waxed, you may have to wait a day to go to the gym. Deodorants can cause discomfort in your armpits 24 hours after you have them waxed.
Other Options
If you don't want to participate in either of these armpit hair removal processes, consider getting your armpit hair bleached. This is not a very common practice. Most people want their armpit hair gone, not lighter. However, lighter armpit hair is much less noticeable than dark armpit hair.
You can also use a hair removal cream to get rid of your armpit hair. Make sure to read the directions on these creams carefully. If you decide to go ahead and use the cream, put a small bit on your armpit first to see if you have any skin reaction to the cream. This armpit hair removal process is effective, but does irritate some people's skin.
